Fuseboard Installation & Replacement

Why Should you upgrade or change your fuseboard?

One of the primary reasons to upgrade your fuseboard is safety. Older fuseboards may contain corroded cabling and components or have outdated fuses or circuit breakers that do not provide adequate protection against electrical faults or overloads. Upgrading to a modern consumer unit with circuit breakers or residual current devices (RCDs) can enhance electrical safety by quickly shutting off power in the event of a fault, reducing the risk of electrical fires and electric shock.

Electrical regulations and codes change over time to adapt to new safety standards and technology. An outdated fuseboard may not comply with current electrical codes and standards. Upgrading to a modern consumer unit ensures that your electrical system meets the latest safety requirements and local building codes.

Additional Circuit: If you’re renovating your home or adding new electrical appliances or circuits, you may need to upgrade your fuseboard to accommodate these changes. A modern consumer unit can offer more circuit breakers or RCDs, allowing you to add new circuits for lighting, outlets, or specific appliances without overloading the existing system.

Older fuseboards may have limited electrical capacity, which can lead to frequent tripped circuits or blown fuses when using multiple devices simultaneously. Upgrading to a larger consumer unit with higher amperage capacity can provide better support for your electrical needs, reducing the risk of overloads and disruptions.

If you’re interested in integrating smart home technology into your electrical system, upgrading your consumer unit can provide the necessary infrastructure and compatibility for smart home devices, allowing you to control lighting, appliances, and security systems remotely.

A modern, safe and compliant electrical system can increase the resale value of your home. Potential buyers are more likely to be attracted to a property with up-to-date electrical infrastructure.

Knowing that your electrical system is safe, reliable, and up-to-date can provide peace of mind for you and your family.
